Zamites is a plant of uncertain classification (either a cycad or a Bennettitalean), known from Triassic to Late Cretaceous fossils found in North America, Europe and India, to as late as the Oligocene in North America. Its leaves and fronds superficially resemble those of the modern cycad genus Zamia, although the two may not necessarily have been related.
